The safety, dignity, and well-being of persons-served are our highest priorities. Emerywood utilizes structured policies, trained staff, and individualized supports to help create a safe, respectful, and supportive residential environment.
Safety measures may include:

medication management and secure medication storage
individualized support plans and behavior support strategies
emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures
ongoing staff training and competency development
incident reporting and follow-up protocols
regular environmental and safety checks
transportation safety procedures
infection prevention and sanitation practices
coordination with healthcare providers, guardians, and support teams
9. What does it cost?
Costs vary depending on funding source (Medicaid waiver, Innovations Waiver, or private pay). We will help families and case managers navigate funding options.
10. Can families visit?
Yes! Family involvement is highly encouraged. We have open visiting hours daily, and guardians are welcome to participate in care planning meetings. We also host monthly events like bingo, paint parties, birthday celebrations and holidays and we would love for families and friends to join us.
11. Can my loved one continue working with their current DSP or support worker?
Yes — we understand how important trusted relationships and continuity of care can be, especially during transitions into a new residential setting. Existing DSPs may assist during the transition period to help the person-served feel comfortable, supported, and successful in their new environment.
To maintain consistency, communication, safety standards, and coordinated supports within the home, Emerywood’s long-term goal is to utilize an integrated staffing model whenever possible. If an existing DSP is a good fit and interested in continuing to support the individual, we are open to discussing opportunities for them to join the Emerywood team.
